I view nature as beautiful, sacred, and an indefinable part of the human experience. I see language and nature as equals in this respect. I feel that the beauty and joy of language can’t be adequately expressed merely through the scientific study of language; it must be explored through another, more artistic, medium. Through my paintings, I am exploring and celebrating the conjoining of the sanctity of nature and language, and the humanity inherent in both subjects.
